Friday, June 28, 2002, Balata Refugee Camp

The Internationals of Balata are going to walk to Nablus this morning to join a bunch from there to protest the curfew and show support for the Palestinians who are suffering terribly under this prolonged curfew. Collective punishment is the name of the game. But I decided not to go with them. I am not feeling well with my sore throat and headache, so I am staying here with the family and doing some errands, such as going to the Internet Café. I will have to wait and see what becomes of the protest march. I would like to have gone, but it might have made my "flu" worse. Besides this gives me a chance to be with just the family members without all the hubbub.

The day ended with me going back to Jerusalem with four other Internationals. I will see tomorrow where else I will be going.
