| What: | This is a hypertext book, that is, a collection of web pages, to be browsed online, downloaded in part or whole, searched, and used to compare to other Vigilante literature. |
| Aim: | We want to provide in one location, on the web, as much of the Montana Vigilante literature as we possibly can. This will make it easier to compare the various publications, and we hope will shed light on just what happened in the hanging spree of January and Feburary of 1864. It may also clarify the guilt or innocence of some of the participants and/or their victims. |
| Why: | This book was published in 1915 by the State PublishingCo, Helena, MT. It was included in an edition of Dimsdale's Vigilantes of Montana, which also had some footnotes added by AL Noyes. As far as we know, the History of Southern Montana portion is now out of print, but contains some materials not known to be available anywhere else. |
